Cacao Nib & Chia Energy Balls

These little snacks are an easy, quick and healthy alternative to curb hunger, satisfy any sweet tooth and get a boost of energy. With a healthy dose of antioxidants, minerals, protein, fiber and omega-3 fatty acids in every bite, what’s not to love? I made these little treats for my clients one day and I received huge response. I wish I could take all the credit but the real stars are in the health benefits of Chia Seeds and Cacao Nibs.

Chia Seeds

Are an excellent source of antioxidants, dietary fiber, omega-3 and protein. When soaked in liquid, they form a gelatinous mass which makes them popular in puddings or as a thickening agent in baked goods and smoothies. Other health benefits of these seeds include:

  • Stabilizes blood sugar
  • Helps with weight loss
  • Assists in detoxification & elimination
  • Supports heart health
  • Provides energy
  • Rich in iron, calcium, niacin, magnesium, zinc and phosphorus.

Raw Cacao Nibs

Are the partially ground Cacao beans that are the natural source of all chocolate products. It is a superfood that contains essential minerals and a host of antioxidants, giving it an ORAC° value of 8,400 per serving. In fact, it has up to 4x the quantity of antioxidants found in green tea and is known to be one of the highest dietary sources of magnesium.

If your looking for a healthy treat without the guilt give these a try!
